Visitation

Visitation is scheduled in hourly sessions, and visiting hours may vary depending on the day and whether you are visiting a male or female inmate. Visitation can start as early as 8:00 AM and run as late as 10:30 PM. For the most accurate and up-to-date schedule, visitors should check Monterey County’s official website or call the facility directly.

Visitors should arrive at least 30 minutes early to complete the required check-in process. Parking can fill up quickly, so arriving early is recommended.

Upon arrival, all visitors must go through security screening. Red or blue clothing is not allowed. Hats, beanies, cell phones, tablets, smartwatches, and all electronic devices are prohibited. Female visitors may not wear leggings, tight clothing, or revealing attire. A valid government-issued ID is required at all times.

It is recommended to leave all prohibited items—such as phones, smartwatches, hats, beanies, and other restricted items—in your vehicle or at home before entering.

After clearing security, visitors must check in with a deputy at the front desk and present their ID. Once check-in begins, visitors must wait until all visitors are processed. Visitation doors close after 30 minutes, and no late entry is allowed.

When check-in is complete, deputies will escort visitors in single-file lines. Visitors seeing male inmates will be escorted to one building, while visitors seeing female inmates will be escorted to a separate building.

Each visitation session lasts one hour.
